🍀A HISTÓRIA DE CRIOULO DOS PAMPAS

THE STORY OF CRIOULO DOS PAMPAS Carlos Roberto Macedo Monteiro, better known as Crioulo dos Pampas, was born in 1947 in SĂŁo Gabriel, into a family of gaucho musicians who sang of the beauties of Rio Grande do Sul. Even his grandmother was an accomplished harmonica player, as the accordion is known in the state. With so much influence, there was no way around it: as a child, Carlos began accompanying his father in performances. After playing other instruments, he fell in love with the harmonica around the age of 18. His success came with the song "Crioulo dos Pampas," which, besides paving the way for his career, ended up becoming his stage name. The audience's favorite song at his shows, however, was "Nego Bom NĂŁo Se Mistura." Crioulo dos Pampas recorded 19 albums and was one of the few Black singers to achieve success in the nativist movement, one of the branches of Gaucho music, with more connotative and metaphorical lyrics, popular compositions, and a focus on "rude regionalism." At 42, Crioulo dos Pampas met Iara, a friend's sister, at a dance in the city of Santana do Livramento, on the border with Uruguay. Together, they had two children: Sandyara and Carlos, who is now following in his father's footsteps in the artistic world. Crioulo dos Pampas infected everyone with his joy and didn't like to see anyone sad. One of the lines from his most famous song sums up his spirit well: "On the day I die/ Throw a party with plenty/ I don't want much sadness/ Nor a hardwood coffin." In addition to the songs "Crioulo dos Pampas" and "Nego Bom NĂŁo Se Mistura," for which he became known, he also had hits with "Clareando as Coisas," "Canção dos Tropeiros," and "Botando pra Quebrar," among others. Throughout his successful career, Crioulo recorded several LPs and CDs. He performed his last concert in his wife's hometown on December 9, 2013. Crioulo dos Pampas, who was also the father of three other children, died of a heart attack in Porto Alegre on April 9, 2014, at the age of 66. He was buried in GravataĂ, the city where the black pearl of Gaucho music had lived for years. ______________________________________________________ Production and Voiceover: Valdir França Channel Management: MĂdiaplay Journalist/Responsible Editor: Valdir França - MTB/RS 19.605 Subscribe to our channels: https://www.youtube.com/c/midiaplayco...
