Following a suspected attempted homicide, a major police operation is underway in the Mettenhof district of Kiel. Around 200 officers are conducting a court-ordered mass DNA screening in the "White Giant" high-rise building. The operation stems from a paving stone that was thrown from an upper floor at a patrol car in early June. A policewoman was injured and remains unable to work. DNA traces were secured from the stone. Residents aged 14 and older are being asked to voluntarily provide a DNA sample.
