The New Yardbirds - As Long As I Have You
I first owned this years ago, it was from a bootleg on vinyl called "Led Zep's first concert as The New Yardbirds @ The Marquee 16/10/68." As a young Zeppelin fan, I soon collected the albums and was hungry for more. For me - the 1st album was the one I liked most, so early live concert recordings were of much interest. The bootleg album mentioned above was the first I owned and was quite a bad recording. The next one I found was on a C60 cassette simply titled "Led Zep 1968" and turned out to be the same concert again . . .. ..but a much worse recording. The next Zep bootleg I bought was another one saying "First concert as The New Yardbirds 68" and it was yes, exactly the same concert as the previous two versions I had bought but with one major difference - it was recorded at a greatly accelerated speed rendering it unlistenable. As I sold my record collection years ago, I lost this concert - until recently. I often listened to early live Zep stuff off Youtube & etc., but was unable to find this exact concert until, as I said, very recently. I read about this bootleg and it seems that nobody can agree where and when this was actually recorded. Some say Fillmore '69 or Gonzaga etc., though these sound very different. I've always wanted to know where and when this was recorded. I do not own the music or the images; I just shared it because I like it.
