HOT HEAD - Jazz Superstar Gunhild Carling Sings & Tap-Dances at Keystone Korner Baltimore 12/30/22

Gunhild Carling is an international globe-trotting Jazz singer-songwriter, tap dancer and multi-instrumentalist who leads a multi-generational (mostly) family band which includes many of her own family members. She has been described as the national treasure of Sweden and was invited twice to perform for the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf - once for his 70th birthday and also for his Ruby Jubilee. This song ("Hot Head") was the highlight of that performance. Gunhild plays almost every instrument you can imagine - trombone, bagpipe, trumpet, drums, piano, guitar, oboe, tuba, flute, harmonica, banjo, ukulele, harp and more! She is also an excellent tap dancer. Her band today included her husband Johan Blomé (banjo), son Viggo (drums), her film and TV-star daughter Idun and niece Nanna. Other band members not here today are Gunhild's mother Aina Carling (banjo), brother Max on clarinet and violin, brother Ulf on drums, trumpet, dance and vocals and sister Gerd on piano, trombone and saxophone.
