Les crêtes de Bluye par la vallée du Toulourenc

Starting from Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux, this 20km loop hike with 900 meters of elevation gain takes us to the ridges of the Bluye mountain. These ridges almost mark the border between the Vaucluse and Drôme departments. We begin with a short, flat section in the Toulourenc valley, already enjoying beautiful views of Mont Ventoux, La Plate, and all the ridges we will be traversing. We follow the river and discover a pretty bridge before climbing to reach the ridges. From the ridges, we discover the entire Drôme region! Buis-les-Baronnies lies almost at our feet, its valley towards Rémusat, and the Ouvèze Valley. The ridge, winding its way up and down, sometimes through singletrack, sometimes through woods and with open views, plays with our emotions... Drôme and Vaucluse reveal their mountains, including Mont Ventoux, La Plate and Pic du Comte, La Nible, La Clavelière, La Vagine, and so many others! The descent is via a pleasant singletrack trail with panoramic views above the Toulourenc River. Just one small drawback to this superb setting: the loose stones, which can become tiring after a while. Parking is easy and well-equipped at the edge of Saint-Léger, with picnic tables and restrooms. The best season for this hike is spring and autumn, as well as on beautiful winter days. Avoid summer, when the heat is oppressive and the Toulourenc Gorge is packed due to the Vaux-Saint-Léger river hike. A challenging hike is very enjoyable. #hiking #mountains #nature #vaucluse #travel #beautifullandscape
