Bonneville Salt Flats | Kawasaki ZX-14R Speed Test

Go as fast as possible! This past weekend we were able to get this bike onto the Bonneville Salt flats for some true testing. With speed week coming up in just a few more weeks, we're thankful to get this opportunity to test this bike out so we can find where we need to make improvements before it really counts. Now that we have some real data to take back to our dyno, we'll be able to get this zx14r dialed in for the real runs come August. As you'll see in this video, each rider must complete a set of runs to advance to the next one. This ensures the motorcycle and the rider have what it takes to fly across the flats safely. While the surface of the flats seems smooth and almost perfect, it's everything but. The surface almost resembles a rough, ice like texture that can easily cause danger if not taken seriously. On top of a slippery surface, the wind gusts can come out of nowhere! This whole process is a very calculated deal. From setting the bike up properly at the shop, to the riders preparing for a 200mph pass. All participants have an important job to pull it all together. At the end of the day, we're super pleased with the results and data we were able to collect and look forward to attending speed week so we can attempt to break that record!!
