This cemetery is the largest in Madrid and one of the largest in Europe. One of the main sculptures overlooking the cemetery is that of Faust, and legend has it that if you passed by the Almudena and heard its trumpet, you would die instantly. As we cycled through the cemetery, we discovered the place where the funeral carriages used throughout the centuries are preserved and stored. We learned a little more about some of the illustrious figures who rest here, such as Enrique Tierno Galván, Isaac Peral, María Moliner, the bullfighter Juanita Cruz, and Lola Flores. In addition, in the Almudena you will find numerous symbols related to death, from sculptures, flowers, trees, etc.
