REFUGEES IN CHURCH ASYLUM: Number of cases reaches new high Significantly more migrants received church asylum in Germany in 2024. As reported by the "Bild" newspaper, citing information from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), the number rose to 2,386 cases – more than 300 higher than the previous year.
