Antonio Scurati - M. La fine e il principio

Antonio Scurati - M. The End and the Beginning, in conversation with Margherita Rubino and Luca Ubaldeschi, as part of the "Palazzo di Libri" series curated by Nadia Terranova and Elisabetta Pozzi. Scurati has exploded into prominence over the past eight years with hugely successful books. We revisit two of them with the author. One is "War: The Great Tale of Weapons from Homer to the Present Day," a poignant exploration of recent times (Bompiani 2022). The other is "M. The End and the Beginning," Bompiani 2025, which, as the author claims, published it on the anniversary of Liberation Day, concludes his successful cycle of historical fiction. That is to say: a story, yes, but one grounded in research, documents, and written memoirs, enlivened from within by a flaming anti-fascist writing style and faith. This is the fifth book in a series that follows Mussolini through the deposition of the Grand Council and the dramatic months that led to Salò and the height of a civil war.
