Chloe Fire Burns 256 Acres In Santa Clarita
The Chloe Fire continued to burn Wednesday afternoon in the Santa Clarita Valley after breaking out near Val Verde, north of State Route 126. As of approximately 7:00pm the wildfire had scorched 256 acres, prompting a large multi agency response from firefighters on the ground and in the air. The fire was first reported shortly after 4:15pm and spread rapidly through light grass and brush in steep terrain. Multiple fixed wing air tankers and helicopters were assigned to slow the fire’s advance while ground crews worked to establish containment lines. The fire is now at 256 acres. Fire officials reported that there were no injuries and no structures threatened as of Wednesday evening. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
