ನಾವು ಪಣಜಿಯಿಂದ ಕಾಲಂಗುಟ್ಟ ಬೀಚ್ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದೆವು. ಬಸ್‌ನಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಮೊದಲು ನಾವು ಬುಕ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ರೂಮ್‌ಗೆ ಹೋದೆವು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹವಾಮಾನ ತುಂಬಾ ಬಿಸಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ರೂಮ್ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಆರಾಮದಾಯಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಬೆಡ್‌ಗಳು, ಉತ್ತಮ ಎಸಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛವಾದ ವಾಶ್‌ರೂಮ್ ಇತ್ತು. ನಾವು ಈ ರೂಮ್ ಅನ್ನು Booking.com ಮೂಲಕ ಬುಕ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆವು. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಪಡೆದ ನಂತರ ನಾವು ಒಂದು ಬೈಕ್ ಬಾಡಿಗೆಗೆ ಪಡೆದು ಕಾಲಂಗುಟ್ಟ ಬೀಚ್ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದೆವು. ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ಕಡೆ ಗೋವಾ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಕಂಡರು. ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಾವು ಊಹಿಸಿದ್ದಷ್ಟು ವಿಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಲವೆಡೆ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಂತೆಯೇ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಕೆಲವು ಕಡೆ ಪ್ಯಾಚ್‌ವರ್ಕ್ ಕೂಡ ಕಂಡುಬಂತು. ನಮ್ಮ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಿಷಯವೆಂದರೆ ಹಳೆಯ ಪೋರ್ಚುಗೀಸ್ ಕಾಲದ ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳು. ಸುಮಾರು 400 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಪೋರ್ಚುಗೀಸ್ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಬೈಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಸ್ಥಳ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಅಂಗಡಿಗಳು ಕಂಡವು. ಬೀಚ್ ಡ್ರೆಸ್‌ಗಳು ಕೇವಲ ₹100 ರಿಂದ ₹200 ರವರೆಗೆ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದು ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು. ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು ಜನರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿ ತುಳುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಆ ಜನಸಂದಣಿ ನೋಡಿ ನನಗೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಜನಸಂದಣಿಯ ರಸ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಬೈಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಹೋದೆ. ಇನ್ನೂ ಕಥೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ... ಮುಂದಿನ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪದೇ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ! We started our journey from Panaji towards Calangute Beach. After getting off the bus, we headed to our room. The weather was extremely hot. The room was quite comfortable, with two beds, good air conditioning, and a clean washroom. We had booked it through booking.com⁠�. After settling in, we rented a bike and continued our journey towards Calangute Beach. On the way, we noticed Goa police at several locations and passed through normal roads. To be honest, the streets did not feel very different from what we had imagined; in many places, the roads looked similar to Bengaluru, with a number of patched sections. One thing that stood out was the large number of old Portuguese-era buildings. The influence of more than 400 years of Portuguese rule was clearly visible in the architecture around us. As I was looking for a place to park, I noticed several clothing shops along the roadside. Beachwear was available for just ₹100–₹200. The streets were packed with people, and I was amazed by the crowd.
