BHUTAN BIRD FESTIVAL

The third annual Bhutan Bird Festival was held from November 13-15, 2023 at Tingtibi in Zhemgang district, known as the eco-tourism capital of Bhutan. The three-day bird festival was a fascinating event, aimed to promote birding and upscale eco-tourism in the region and to enhance the local economy. The festival featured cultural and entertainment programs by local bands, dancers and singers, mask dances, and traditional Bhutanese music. The annual Bird Festival was an exciting event that brought visitors from across the country and abroad to Zhemgang where they enjoyed the natural beauty of one of the least explored districts in the country. The organizers and the victors believe that this festival will promote birding and wildlife in Zhemgang and raise awareness of the significance of conservation and sustainability efforts, especially of the endangered species in the region.
