Many candidates approach it as if it's a standard technical interview, which is their first mistake. Karat is a third-party interview platform. Companies hire Karat to handle their technical screening so their engineers can focus on other tasks. Karat has a team of trained interviewers, known as interview engineers, who conduct coding interviews for companies like Meta, Atlassian, Walmart, Pinterest, Citi, and many others. Here’s what makes Karat different from most interviews you may have experienced: First, the interviewers follow a strict rubric. They are not having a casual conversation with you; they fill out a structured scorecard while you code. This scorecard includes specific categories, such as problem understanding, communication, code quality, and edge case handling. They evaluate you against this rubric throughout the interview.
