Today I bring you the 10th full length album from American progressive black metal band, Luminous Veil. Every album from this band is an intriguing prospect that could draw from any point across a span of primal death metal through harsh blackness to melodic experimentation, with each album themes around a rich concept that is conveyed through similarity well-considered musical composition and tone. Agita Knelling comes bound in the artwork “The Girl I Left Behind Me” by American 19th Century realist portrait painter Eastman Johnson, with lyrical themes tackling the consuming anxieties of modernity; the figure on the cover staring them down with a horror exhibited now in the gloss of media spectacle; the antidote to this enfeebling morass, physical book of ink and paper, cloth and leather, clutched in her hands serving as revolutionary optimism to counter a nihilist mind.
