Elgar: Introduction and Allegro for Strings. Serenade in E Minor for Strings. (1952) (Mono)

Edward Elgar (1857-1934) was an English composer who was influential in rejuvenating British classical music. He was also trained also as a violinist. Thus he had a particular affinity for composing for strings, such as these two pieces. This is a quite early LP, now well over 70 years old. The sound on it is very good considering its age. The London/Decca sound engineers, however, did a few volume adjustments in certain passages which might be noticeable.
