Turn a Gift Bag Into a Purse
Gift bag size for this project is 12" tall, 10" wide, 5" in depth. Purse size is 8" tall, 10" wide, 5" in depth. Note: I used sturdy cardboard for the demonstration; however, chipboard is my go-to for such projects when I want to put in heavier items. The first step is to reduce your gift bag to 8". Cardboard/Chipboard measurements 9 7/8 x 4 7/8 - Bottom 9 7/8 x 7 7/8 - Front/Back (make 2) 1 1/4 x 9 7/8 - Top of purse Designer Series Paper 9 7/8 x 4 7/8 - Bottom 12 x 9 - Front/Back (make 2) 4 7/8 x 3 for Top sides of the purse (make 2) score at 1 1/2 Items used in this project Velcro for closure. Note: I would use a sturdy magnet if you wanted to carry the purse as a handbag. Glue, I use glitter glue Tear and tap Fasteners for extra hold on the handle Add a bow or scarf for a decorative feature.
