Slow it Down! Holy Wars... The Punishment Due at 90% Speed - Lossless Audio Source

If ever there were a Megadeth song that would make learning it easier, it's Holy Wars. Ok, Take No Prisoners also... and Rust in Peace, Oh, and Lucretia. Let's face it Rust in Peace is just a masterpiece of metal-technicality! This is not an easy song at any moment. Even when it slows down, it demands attitude and precision with slick right-hand muting techniques and exceptionally controlled picking. The rhythm stuff is demanding. Your strength and dexterity will be pushed as you ramp up the speed. The leads are exceptionally difficult as well. Friedman steps out early in the song and crushes it on the nylon. Friedman and Mustaine trade off towards the end and Mustaine's more pentatonic approach and typically picked phrases separate him from Marty's incredible melodic passages with huge bends and playing outside the box to capture the ear. The song is also rather long, so again it will test your stamina. The economy of movement was a huge help in learning this song. Keep your right hand glued to the bridge in mute position and your fretting fingers over their respective frets, ready to pounce. Man, Megadeth was just incredible at this point!
