Hiking the North Cascades in Winter - The most beautiful mountains in Washington

The North Cascades boast some of the best mountains in the entire state. State route 20 is famous for being the main access road for many of these iconic peaks by way of trails and viewpoint. The road closes during the winter, but when conditions permit it can be open when the mountains start to accumulate snow. At the end of November I set out to see these peaks in early winter conditions and check out some popular trails with a slightly different perspective, enjoy! Date filmed: November 30th Note: State route 20 is now closed for the winter, and has sustained damage during the December floods. As always check the WSDOT website for current travel information and road conditions.
