Skeena Pacific #2646 Rocky Mountaineer West, Mile 76.4N Shuswap Sub, Balmoral, BC, Canada 2026-06-25
In this case, I was able to move the two kilometers from Mile 75.5 South to Mile 76.4 North in time to catch the next train. The Great Canadian Railtours "Rocky Mountaineer" westbound from Banff, Alberta was caught just before transiting the short tunnel under Notch Hill Road. I then followed it, with the camera, around the Balmoral Loop. RMRX8019 and RMRX8014 were the power for this relatively short train. The action was caught on the CPKC Shuswap Subdivision at Mile 76.4 North near Balmoral, British Columbia, Canada. If you go to Google, select Maps and paste in 50°51'09.5"N 119°22'32.2"W you'll see the location of the camera for this video. Technical: Recorded with a Canon XA55 4KHD Pro video camera at 1920x1080 resolution and 60 frames per second. It is equipped with an Azden SMX-10 Stereo Microphone mounted inside a Rode Blimp Windshield. A Neewer NW74K 7-Inch 1920x1080 Field Monitor is also used. All equipment is mounted on a custom Neewer camera cage attached to a Canadian Studio Pro Heavy Duty 72" Tripod using a NEEWER GM006 Pro Video Fluid Head.
