Elizabeth Warren, Ben Bernanke Clash Over Bank Speculation
Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren questioned Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke during his latest semiannual appearance before the Senate Banking Committee to discuss the state of the economy, as well as monetary policy for the coming years. Senator Warren put pressure on the Federal Reserve concerning whether the government would bail out the largest banks again, as it did during the 2008 financial crisis.
