Trail Steward Bag for work - rescues - patrol - Maxpedition Proteus Versipack

The maxpedition proteus versipak and warrior assault systems wrist pouch are the two items that I wear during the spring, summer, and early fall seasons while working as a trail steward for parks. I take these items with me on rescues as a base kit. Depending on the conditions sometimes we bring an external medical kit and extra supplies needed for the rescue / lost hikers. it is also depends if youre going up alone vs in a group of people. We work with EMT, Sheriff, Town PD, State PD, DEC Rangers, State Park PD and Fire Department Personnel during emergencies for injured and lost hikers. We are some of the first responders to calls in the parks that we work in. I thought this might be an interesting look at what I carry in a relatively small pack. There is an earlier iteration of the maxpedition load out that I filmed a few months ago and have since then changed minor things based on the past few months of use. Realize that is a general base kit and its made to go with specific items or tool needed for a rescue. Unfortunately you cant prepare for everything and this kit is tailored from experience working in this specific area. Sometimes we get intel that is not correct and it becomes hard to bring the right items in cases of a rescue or lost hiker. Hikers can give information based on false observations and that can lead to an avalanche of confusion. Our default and common goal as trail stewards is generally to locate and report where these people are. We usually are supported with a trained emt and fire DP and/or Police.
