Stanley is one of the most confusing characters in Thomas and Friends. He started out strong in 2008, having a major role in the Great Discovery, several episodes, and tons of merchandise. Then, he reached internet fame thanks to a video about him going to space. However, once Mattel purchased the brand in 2012, Stanley quickly fell into obscurity. But why was that?
