The BMW Diesel Problem Nobody Talks About - Bertone Freeclimber EP6

In this episode of the Bertone Freeclimber build, we dive deep into the heart of this classic BMW diesel engine. After wrapping up the interior work, it was time to tackle something way more critical. The cooling system and fuel system. I removed the radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, and timing belt to inspect everything before reassembly. But the real turning point in this episode was pulling the diesel injection pump. There’s a common issue with these older BMW diesel engines that almost nobody talks about, and if you ignore it, it can turn into a much bigger problem down the road. In this video I show the full removal process, what to look out for, and what’s coming next as I prepare to hopefully reseal the pump and refresh the entire cooling system. Next episode we tear into the injection pump itself and start putting this BMW diesel back together the right way. Cant wait to hit some trails in this little beast
