GOING THE DISTANCE - Casting Demonstration And Tutorial: Slideline USA

In this episode of Slideline USA, we are going the distance - literally. There have been some inquiries as to how far you can cast with the types of gear used in some of these demonstrations. So we decided to do a mini casting demonstration and tutorial on non return slide fishing casting rod and reel combinations and how far the spinning rod and reel combo can send a bait. Here we set up on the beach and take an accurate measurement of my average length of gait, and then walk it out old school style to determine a relatively accurate measurement of casting distance. This method of non return slide fishing (#nonreturnslide), also known as slide baiting or slide bait fishing, originated in South Africa and is a highly effective method of catching different species of large game fish while surf fishing. Species include (but are in no way limited to) the following: red drum, king mackerel, cobia, tarpon, giant stingrays, bull shark, tiger shark, hammerhead shark, black tip shark, and lemon shark to name a few.
