Valve Clearance Adjustment on Northern Lights Generator
Checking and adjusting valve clearances is an important maintenance item, easily performed by anyone with enough mechanical aptitude to change their own oil. This video demonstrates checking and adjusting the valve clearances (gap between valve stems and rocker arm) on a Northern Lights genset with a 773 engine, but is applicable to other engines as well. Make sure you reference the service/owner's manual for the proper gap and double-check millimeters vs inches (like I didn't!)
