Adventure Van Expo 2026 | We Finally Made Our Van Decision!

What do campers do when they can't go camping? We take a road trip! This week we headed to beautiful Winter Park, Colorado for the Adventure Van Expo. We originally planned to camp for the entire weekend, but since our Mercedes van is still broken down and we already had tickets, we turned it into a fun day trip instead. We spent hours checking out some incredible adventure van builds from manufacturers and custom builders. There were plenty of amazing ideas, creative layouts, and impressive off-grid setups. After seeing everything the expo had to offer, we think we've finally made up our minds... We don't see another van in our future—especially another Mercedes. After the expo, we rode the gondola into downtown Winter Park where a summer festival was in full swing. Live music, local vendors, craft booths, great food, and beautiful mountain scenery made for a perfect afternoon. To wrap up the day, we stopped by E-Bikes of Colorado in Louisville. It's the same shop where we bought her e-bike from, and after my bike's motor failed during our Oklahoma camping trip, it was time for me to get back on two wheels. Not every adventure has to involve camping. Sometimes it's just about getting out together, exploring somewhere new, and making the best of the situation.
