LOVE, ACTUALLY

(Joe) In a family, love must be sustaining in order to function. Daily interactions hint at overlooked gestures which expresses love in the most regular, yet intimate manner. Something as simple as waking up in a house, grabbing a baby before they fall off the bed, or even being in the same room with family exudes the very nature of love. At times, I’ve felt pressured to showcase the type of love that people want to see. The physical expressions and the adoring looks is what gets attention. That’s what gets noticed. Many have questioned if I love Alena and the family. As one who has come from a stoic Korean family, feeling loved has not always been apparent when compared to the standards of social media. However, when I identify the love that God provides, or the consequences that He has protected me from, His love is everywhere and showcased in the very fabric of our existence.
