Apraxia of speech (AOS)—also known as acquired apraxia of speech, verbal apraxia, or childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) when diagnosed in children is a speech sound disorder. Someone with AOS has trouble saying what he or she wants to say correctly and consistently. In this video Tracy Vail, co-owner of Let’s Talk Speech and Language Services, Inc. talks about various strategies to deal with apraxia. Tracy has been working with children on the Autism Spectrum since 1982 in a variety of settings including public schools, private schools and private practice. Tracy holds 56 doctoral credits in the areas of Early Intervention and Learning Disabilities from West Virginia University. #apraxia #apraxiaofspeech #autism
