The 2nd ASEAN Dialogue on Human Rights and Policing

The ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) Indonesia successfully convened the 2nd ASEAN Dialogue on Human Rights and Policing on 26–27 January 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Building upon the outcomes of the inaugural Dialogue held in 2024, this second Dialogue brought together relevant stakeholders from across the ASEAN region to continue discussions on strengthening the integration of human rights principles into policing and law enforcement practices. The Dialogue served as an important platform for fostering constructive exchanges, sharing experiences and good practices, and promoting greater understanding of human rights-based approaches within policing and law enforcement institutions. Through multi-stakeholder engagement, the Dialogue aimed to support ongoing efforts to enhance professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights in the maintenance of public safety and security.
