We thought the hardest part was behind us. After days of pushing through water crossings, sand, and extreme altitude… our bodies were already struggling. But we weren’t done yet. Because ahead of us was something we had been chasing for months: one of the highest motorable roads on Earth. The ride to Umling La took us even higher than before. Higher than Everest Base Camp. Higher than anything we had ever experienced. At these altitudes, the air holds barely half the oxygen. Breathing becomes difficult. Focus fades. Every decision matters.
