70 Refitting the Electric Starter Motor
Welcome to the channel! I’m taking you inside the garage as I tear down my 2013 Royal Enfield Classic 500 to dismantle the engine. I am not qualified in mechanical work. I’m just an old skool bloke plodding along with his workshop manual and school of life know how. Yes, I’m probably doing it wrong according to the experts. But I’m having a go. I need to find and remove a stray M5 x 35mm bolt that I found when doing an oil change, (now 3 bolts as seen in one of the videos) and then hopefully put the engine in my 2013 Royal Enfield Classic 500 all back together. Follow along for the real-world struggles, watch the major teardown happen, by a complete filming novice, I narrate what I am doing, and what tools I’m using, and share mechanical tips that were shared with me, come along and enjoy the ride of hopefully bringing a Royal Enfield classic 500 back to life. Whether you are working on your own UCE 500 or just love watching a good mechanical repair, you’ll find this a slow paced teardown and rebuild, with the tool sizes I use for each task. I am Documenting my process and sharing what I learn, for the enjoyment it may bring, and doing it all in the garage at home. I have made each video like a separate chapter showing my processes and progress. I have also written and created my own songs related to my Silver, Classic 500, some about finding the mystery bolt and issues and stresses it caused. The music is generated and added to my lyrics. You’ll hear some playing in the background. I’ll upload them later. I couldn’t settle on an exact music style, so some songs are with the same lyrics but with a different music style. Some songs are about the brain relief I get when riding through the hills at a Classic 500’s slower pace. The importance of connecting with mates and not struggling on your own. Speaking up when you have depression. As Paul from the @OldSkoolOnly YouTube channel says “it’s not weak to speak”. I thank him deeply for that strong advice. Please enjoy, laugh, cry, wince or scream at the screen while watching my work.
