Kadı Hamamı Misafirlerini Dört Gözle Bekliyor
KAYSERI, (BGC) - Located in the Melikgazi district of Kayseri, the Kadı Hamam (Royal Bath), built in 1542 by Kadı Burhaneddin Mahmud, is preparing to welcome guests again after a challenging year and a half of the pandemic. The area, which houses both men's and women's baths, is reportedly undergoing renovations during the pandemic. Located on the southwest side of the Cami Kebir, the Kadı Hamam is considered the bathhouse of highest architectural value in Kayseri. Having existed for 479 years, the bathhouse is reopening with the third phase of the "controlled normalization" program, which began on July 1st, and eagerly awaits its guests. Cevdat Polat, the operator of the bathhouse, built from rubble stone as a double bathhouse, stated that they are open 24/7 and that the bathhouse has undergone a complete renovation during the period of closure. Cevdat Polat, the bathhouse's operator, provided information about the Kadı Bathhouse, saying, "We would like the people of Kayseri to visit our nearly 500-year-old historical bathhouse, one of Kayseri's cornerstones, and see that there's no trace left of its former glory. During the 18 months we were closed, we've been busy with renovations and renewed our team. I hate to see our bathhouse get a bad rap. Our goal is to serve the people and win their hearts. The old staff has won people's pockets but hasn't been able to win their hearts. We aspire to win their hearts." "WE'RE FIRST IN KAYSERI" Polat emphasized that they serve everyone, from 7 to 77, saying, "Our rooms are very elegant. Our bathhouse is open 24 hours a day, and this is a first in Kayseri. No matter what time it is, people can comfortably rest and cleanse themselves in our rooms. This also applies to our women; for example, working women may not be able to find a bathhouse in the evening and can come to our bathhouse. We also serve those who travel long distances. I want to dedicate our 24/7 service to Kayseri." Polat explained that he only uses bathhouses when he's sick, saying, "I'm 60 years old, and I've only been to the doctor twice for surgeries. When I'm sick, I come to the bathhouse, lie on the navel stone, wash off the sweat, rest, get a bath scrub, and it's like I've been born again." Polat, providing information about prices, said, "Our entrance fee is 30 TL, scrubbing is 15 TL, and massage is 15 TL. Our average service for one person, including food and beverages, is 70 TL. We provide soap and tea. Shoe shine and cleaning are free." A hamam employee explained that after the scrubbing, they treat irritated areas of the skin, adding, "We use 80-degree cologne on irritated skin after the scrubbing, which eliminates germs and refreshes the skin."
