Get Over Yourself (Unforgiveness)

This is a powerful worship song that deals with unforgiveness. I have tried to pen a description for this emotional subject but it I too have suffered this problem. Even the title was difficult. We just want to file it in our minds and never go there. In simple, it's personal and painful. I have learnt to ask God for forgiveness everyday, because I know everyday has its own set of problems ,that we have to face - we are only humans and we make mistakes. That's how we grow and learn! This whole world is suffering unforgiveness. This is a worship song that says it all. Below I have laid out biblical scriptures that deals with Unforgiveness and the importance to Forgive each other biblically. Spiritual Consequence: A Blocked Relationship with God Jesus spoke very directly about this. The primary spiritual cost of unforgiveness is that it disrupts our ability to experience God's daily grace and mercy. When someone hurts us, anger and bitterness naturally want to take root. If we hold onto those feelings, they become a heavy emotional burden that drains our energy, steals our joy, and causes stress. Forgiveness isn't about saying what the person did was okay, and it isn't about letting them off the hook—it is about letting yourself off the hook. It is choosing to hand that heavy weight over to God so you don't have to carry it anymore. Matthew 6:14-15: "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." The Meaning: It’s not that God stops loving us, but rather that a heart filled with bitterness is closed up tight. You cannot easily receive God’s free gift of peace and forgiveness when your hands are clenched tight in anger at someone else. 2. Emotional Consequence: The Prison of Torture In Matthew 18, Jesus tells the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant. A servant is forgiven a massive, unpayable debt by a king, but then turns around and throws a fellow servant into prison over a tiny amount of money. When the king finds out, he is furious. Matthew 18:34-35: "In anger his master handed him over to the torturers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart." The Meaning: In real life, those "torturers" are bitterness, resentment, anxiety, and sleepless nights. The penalty of unforgiveness is that we hand ourselves over to emotional turmoil. The person who hurt us moves on, but we stay locked in the pain of the past. 3. Personal Consequence: A Hardened, Bitter Heart Unforgiveness acts like a poison that doesn't stay contained in one spot; it spreads to everything else. Hebrews 12:15: "See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." The Meaning: A "bitter root" grows beneath the surface. If we let unforgiveness sit in our hearts, it eventually hardens us. It makes it harder to trust regular people, harder to love deeply, and steals the simple joy out of daily life. Read the Word ieveryday and it will change your life ffor the better forever. It speaks of how we should live our life and how to deal with issues that arise - daily manual for living in his protection. Ultimately, the penalty of unforgiveness is retaining the very pain that hurt you in the first place.
