Who is entitled to the thirteenth salary? Law 4,090 of 1962 established that all workers who work under an employment contract governed by the CLT are entitled to the Christmas bonus, or thirteenth salary. This means that urban, rural, domestic, casual workers and even retirees and INSS pensioners are entitled to the thirteenth salary. However, NOT all workers hired under the CLT rules should receive this bonus. To understand who is entitled to the thirteenth salary, it is necessary to analyze the rules presented by the Federal Government. The first thing to take into consideration is that the value of the thirteenth salary corresponds to the monthly accumulation of 1/12 of your salary.
