I rebuilt this engine… Now it’s time to drive it!
This is it—the sixth and (for now) final episode of my Volvo V70 2.5T Titanium Edition engine rebuild series! After tearing the engine down, rebuilding it piece by piece, and reinstalling it into the car, today’s video is all about finishing the project and seeing if all the hard work paid off. In this episode, I install the final remaining components needed to get the Volvo back on the road. That includes refitting the alternator, drive belt, downpipe, cooling fan, oil filter, and spark plugs, followed by filling all the essential fluids. With everything back in place and double-checked, the car is finally ready for the moment I’ve been waiting for throughout this entire build. Next comes the most exciting—and nerve-wracking—part of any engine rebuild: the first start. Hearing the rebuilt 2.5T five-cylinder come to life for the first time is incredibly rewarding. After confirming everything is running as it should, I take the car out for its very first test drive, carefully monitoring how the engine behaves after its complete rebuild. This video marks the end of this project for now, but the journey isn’t over yet. After this episode, I’ll be driving the car for 1,000 kilometers to properly break in the engine. Once that’s done, I’ll be back with a follow-up video to share how it performed, what I’ve learned, and whether anything needed adjustment. Thank you for following along—don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for the update!
