Azuchi Castle, abandoned just 10 years after its construction, remains shrouded in mystery due to the scarcity of surviving records. The Shiga Prefectural Board of Education has been working on a 20-year project since 1989 to investigate and maintain the Azuchi Castle site, a special historical site. Ten years have passed since the completion of this project... and we will now introduce the true nature of Azuchi Castle, based on explanations from the site. Each episode will focus on one of five locations where new discoveries and insights have emerged: the "Ote-guchi" (main gate), the "Ote-michi" (main road), the "alleged residence of Hashiba Hideyoshi," the "Honmaru Goten" (main palace), and the "Tenshu-ato" (castle tower ruins). This will reveal Nobunaga's grand ambition hidden within Azuchi Castle.
