We Had to Escape Venezuela Fast! (things got serious)

We had to escape Venezuela fast - Here's why! After being interrogated by the authorities the day before we found ourselves facing a new problem... Tensions with the USA had just hit an all time high and we needed to leave now before things shut down so we quickly raced over to one of the world's dodgiest border crossings. Once we arrived in Colombia we thought we were in the clear but nope. A massive event meant all hotels in Cucuta were fully booked except for one... A $24 a night room in one of the most dangerous parts of the city, perfect. The next day we explored this Venezuela Colombia border city, we met many Venezuelans who crossed for a new life, hit the markets, tried the street food, as well as boozed away in one of the sketchiest parks in the city. Our journey ended with a 18 hour bus ride across the country to Colombia's big capital city Bogota.
