How to set up the perfect language exchange

To get better at speaking a new language, you just have to practise speaking it! Other than finding a teacher, language exchanges are one of the best ways to get regular speaking practice - plus, they're free, fun, and you could even make lifelong friendships along the way! While learning Mandarin Chinese, I had some fantastic language exchange buddies - but I went through a lot of trial and error to figure out how to find and set up a great exchange.
