What Callas Added — And Why No One Has Done It Since
This video is about Maria Callas. 1955 — La Sonnambula and _La Traviata_. And also 1952 _Macbeth_. Same voice, but not the same sound. People always say “beautiful”, “angelic”… but that doesn’t explain anything. I’m not trying to prove anything here. I just show some moments — and you can see what is happening in the sound. Sometimes the voice becomes unstable, sometimes it breaks, sometimes it feels like it is not fully here. And still, it works. That’s the point.
