This little island, located just off the coast of the Pacific Ocean, is located roughly one hour from downtown Tokyo, yet has a completely different vibe than the Japanese capital. Surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean, this hilly mountains gives splendid views of the surrounding landscape, including all of Sagami Bay, as well as the Izu Peninsula and Mt. Fuji in the distance on clear days. There are countless small restaurants on the island, serving everything from local specialities such as Shirasu-Don to curry, coffee as well as the local Enoshima brand beer. In this video I walk from Enoshima Station on the Enoden Railway, all the way to, and across, the Island of Enoshima, passing several beautiful lookout points, shrines and temples (and cats!) on my way there.
