We were still called Kara’s Flowers at this point, but we were starting to write songs with a bit of a soul influence, which was the first inkling of what would become Maroon 5." 03:28 - Simple Kind of Lovely: "This song was track 3 on Stagg Street Recordings." 07:08 - The Great Getaway: "This song was track 4 on Stagg Street Recordings. I don’t remember exactly what inspired this song, but there’s definitely a little Paul Simon influence, and I threw in some Latin & Caribbean rhythms for good measure." 11:35 - Everyday Goodbyes: "This song was the closing track on Stagg Street Recordings." 15:26 - These Days: "This song was a remnant of a transitional period when we were incorporating a lot of different influences, some of which we ended up moving on from. We only played this song live and never recorded it in a studio, but it was an interesting transitional song in the development of the band." 20:14 - However, Whatever: "This song started with a chorus melody and chord progression I had written, which Adam took and turned into a whole song. We only played it live a few times and never recorded it, but it was an interesting transitional song in the development of the Maroon 5 sound."
