How to tune your Oud by Omar Abbad

In this video, Omar Abbad demonstrates how to tune your oud. The tuning used here is cgdAFC (high to low). Omar tunes the first string of each pair of strings with an electronic tuner, then he uses his ear to tune the second string of the pair while playing both strings. When the sound of the second string meets the sound of the first string, you should only hear one clean, pure tone and no discourse between the tones. (To clarify: The first string of the pair of strings is the one that is closer to your feet. Tune this string first with an electronic tuner. The second string is the string that is closer to your face. Tune this with your ear while playing both strings, until you hear one pure tone coming from both strings.) If the pitch of a string does not change when you wind or unwind a peg, chances are, you are turning the wrong peg. Your oud may have a slightly different string/peg relationship.
