We Didn’t Plan to Leave Texas This Way… | Truck Camper Life
We didn’t plan to leave Texas this way. We thought we had more time to explore… more backroads to discover… more desert sunsets ahead. But sometimes life changes the route for you. A family health situation came up, and we knew we wanted to be closer to home. With a major winter storm brewing, that meant preparing our truck camper for freezing temperatures, snow, and a long drive north. Before leaving, we got The Bee ready for winter: • Added heat to the battery compartment • Sealed the windows with plastic • Installed new weather stripping on the door • Insulated around the fridge • Checked every system for cold-weather travel If we were heading into winter, our rig needed to be ready. You’ll also notice something different about the next few videos — we’re jumping ahead in our timeline to bring you into real time with us. We’ll be winter camping on our way home and once we arrive, and it just makes sense to share those adventures now… because no one wants to watch winter camping videos in the spring. That said, we have some incredible Texas adventures coming soon: • Texas Hill Country BDRX • The historic Chisholm Trail • A section of the Oklahoma Adventure Route Those stories are on the way — and we’re excited to share them. The next little while may feel slightly out of order as we navigate family, adjust to a new normal, and plan shorter adventures closer to home. We truly appreciate your patience and support as we figure out the best way to bring everything to you. This is real truck camper life. Unpredictable. Imperfect. And always moving forward. Thanks for being on the road with us. — Gord & Mary-Ann The Time Is Now Adventures OUR TRUCK CAMPER SETUP: Truck: 2007 Chevy Kodiak 4500 Camper: 1997 Bigfoot 25C 10.6B Nickname: The Bee WATCH MORE: 📽️2025/2026 Season Playlist: • 2025/2026 Season 📽️Bigfoot Truck Camper Renovation Series: • Bigfoot Truck Camper Renovation Series 📽️Baja Playlist - Roaming Baja - A Tale of Sun and Sand: • Roaming Baja: A Tale of Sun and Sand SUBSCRIBE HERE → / @thetimeisnowadventures FOLLOW OUR JOURNEY ON OUR SOCIALS: / thetimeisnowadventures / thetimeisnowadventures https://www.thetimeisnowadventures.com/ SUPPORT OUR JOURNEY ON PATREON: / thetimeisnowadventures ®️The Time Is Now Adventures, All rights reserved #truckcamper #overlanding #truckcamperlife
