PARTOGRAM : Monitoring of Labor & Clinical Utility : Dr. Shonali Chandra #NEETPG, #AIIMS, #JIPMER
Monitoring of a woman in labor is done to ensure that the mother and baby are doing well, and also to identify any delay or arrest in progress of labor, so that timely corrective measures can be taken. Partogram is the tool that is used for this purpose by all levels of health care givers, be it nurses or midwives. It is particularly important for those doctors practising in the primary and community health centres, where early identification of arrest can help allow timely referral to a higher centre. Therefore, it is a very important for the undergraduates and the postgraduate aspirants to understand the basics of partogram.
