Day2 - Gold Purchase from Bhutan, Dochula Pass, Tiger NestTrekking

Tourist now can purchase Dutyfree gold (24 karats, Swiss make) from the following two outlets in Bhutan : 1. Bank of Bhutan, Phuentsholing 10 am to 3 pm (closed on Sat & Sun) 2. Dutyfree Shop Norzim Lam, Chubachu, Thimpu 10 am to 3 pm (closed on Tuesday) But they have very limited stock and many times they are out of stock also. Officially one tourist can purchase only 20 grams gold only after submitting following documents : 1. Photocopy of Passport /Voter ID 2. SDF Receipt / Bhutan e-permit copy 3. Hotel receipt (Tourist can purchase gold only if he had spent at least one night in Bhutan) Current Gold rate at dutyfree shop can be checked at the following website - https://gold-bt.onrender.com/ And above all, one has to make the payment in US dollar ($) only. Dollar should be of fresh, even old bill without security strip will not be accepted. Payment is not accepted via any card or online method. It could be a good deal only if you have already saved dollars from your last foreign trip. Travel agent (currency exchanger) don't issue USD for Bhutan or Nepal on paper. This was our second day in Bhutan. we have reached Thimphu yesterday. In the morning we visited Dutyfree shop. After that we headed toward Dochula pass. Now we had to reach the Tiger nest ticket counter (10 kms past Paro city) before 1 pm. Luckily we reached just in time. We have to pay 1000 rs to get the ticket. Ticket is checked at the end of trek to enter the Tigrer nest (monastery) only.
