Defense under Articles 131 and 132 of the Russian Criminal Code: I explain how my sentence was reduced on appeal from 13 years and 1 month to 9 years and 2 months. This is the first video in a series about a case I handled in 2025–2026. The first-instance verdict sentenced the defendant to 12 years under paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 131 of the Russian Criminal Code and 12 years under paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 132 of the Russian Criminal Code, for a total of 13 years and 1 month in prison. The prosecutor's office requested that the sentence be overturned and a 20-year maximum security prison sentence imposed. 🔸 I joined the case at the appeal stage and reviewed the materials and the court record. 🔸 In the appeals, I analyzed the conflicting testimony of the minor victim and the findings of the comprehensive forensic psychological-psychiatric examination. 🔸 I specifically addressed the issue of age awareness and violations in the preparation of the interrogation report. 📌 Result: the court applied Article 64 of the Russian Criminal Code and reduced the sentence to 9 years and 2 months.
