Small Ride. Big Ideas – Cycling The Granite Way, Devon

Sometimes the best rides aren’t the longest — they’re the ones that give you time to think. In this video, I take on The Granite Way in Devon, choosing a flat route while recovering from a cold. The plan was for an easy spin, but it turned into something more reflective. Along the way, I visit Meldon Reservoir — a spot I regretted not exploring more on a previous ride — and discover that it’s not nearly as steep a climb as I’d imagined. Then, reaching Lydford Castle, I start to think about how our limits often live more in our minds than in our legs. A relaxed autumn ride through Devon’s moorland views, quiet trails, and new perspectives.
