Big Brookies in the High Uintas

Ah, the high country is open! It's so nice to get back to the Uintas! With the need to condition myself for this year's big trip, a tough hike was needed, so I donned the waders, threw my pack on, and embarked on a 3 mile hike with some tough vertical, ending at a great little spot to catch some healthy brook trout. It was nice to pump up my backpacking tube for the first time this year. The fish were hard to figure out at first, but it didn't take long and I was getting into them, even on the fly rod!
