How To Host a website on Linux With Free tools!

In this week's video we discuss how to setup a basic webserver for a local intranet, not 'Internet. Meaning it won't be accessible from outside your local network. To Configure the webserver, We'll be Using Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and PHPMyAdmin L.A.M.P. Linux is the operating system, Apache is the webserver, MySQL is the database, Php is the programing language, and PhpMyadmin is a web UI for managing the database. A Webserver allows us to run local website on a computer.  The only requirements is the computer can't be too old (Maybe made in the last 5-10 years), it needs to have internet access and it needs to remain on! The advantages of running your own webserver vs using a third party provider is you'll save money on monthly subscriptions and don't have to worry about committing to a contract! However, you won't enjoy the reliability or security of a dedicated datacenter to host your website. In this video we're installing a VM of Ubuntu Linux Desktop ver 24.04 on our hypervisor proxmox, version 8.2.8.  After installing Linux, we'll install Apache, then Php, MySQL, and then PHPmyadmin. Lastly we're going to sign up for a free Dynamic Domain Name Server (DDNS) with NO-IP.com 🎯 Stay Connected with Me Online! 🌐 Bluesky – Catch my latest thoughts and updates: @mackeytech.bsky.social 🧢 Merch Store – Rep the channel and support the content: mackeytech.myspreadshop.com 🎥 Patreon – Get early content, exclusive posts, and support the channel directly: patreon.com/mackeytech 💬 Join the Discord – Tech talk, help, behind-the-scenes and more: discord.gg/5hQxAZa4yB === Production Notes === 🎵 Music & SFX: Epidemic Sound (licensed subscription) – https://www.epidemicsound.com/ My Video on Installing Linux Mint:    • Sneaky Alternatives to Windows 10 (that yo...   Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction and discusing advantages & disadvantages of running your own webserver 4:42 Showing Webserver Example i have created 5:21 Installation of Ubuntu VM on Proxmox 7:01 Update of Linux Ubuntu 7:21 Installation of Apache 7:57 Testing the Apache installation (is the webserver working?) 9:56 Installing PHP 10:22 Testing our programming language on our webserver 11:53 Installation of MySQL 13:38 Installation of PHPMYADMIN 14:49 Exploring the benefits of Phpmyadmin with examples 16:19 Intro and configuration of NO-IP service for our webserver 18:59 Testing of the website name we selected! 1934: Conclusion Website resources Website used for DDNS: No-IP.com Ubuntu Linux: www.ubuntu.com Hypervisor: www.proxmox.com NO-IP DUC for Linux: https://blog.noip.com/how-do-i-downlo...
