Rachel Nichols’ Apology to Maria Taylor Draws More Backlash at ESPN

Due to the fallout from the New York Times article, Rachel Nichols gave an opening soliloquy yesterday on her show, “The Jump.” She apologized to Maria Taylor and her ESPN colleagues for comments she made in a leaked conversation. The comments occurred before last year’s NBA Finals and were about Taylor hosting the Finals due to ESPN trying to improve their record on diversity. “Start Your Day” hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill criticize the selective accountability at ESPN and say the network should apologize to Taylor and to digital video producer Kayla Johnson, who was suspended for two weeks for leaking the recording.
